The Prince Show on Spreecast
From 2012-2014, I worked for a web startup entitled, Spreecast. It was created by the people who invented StubHub, and was ahead of its time. It was public video broadcasting. Think Facebook Live or Instagram Live, or even Twitch or TikTok now.
During those years, I was hired to host and curate sports content. Then, in late 2012, I was asked to host Spreecasts that fit my personality. I did a show on the film Superman Returns (with Man of Steel soon being released). Then, I did a show about my fandom of Prince. The people at Spreecast loved it and wanted more. I needed a guest. So, I used Twitter (Twitter was great then), and found the amazing blogger known as Dr. Funkenberry. He joined me, and I thought that was the end of it.
In January 2013, the good doctor received a proposal. "He" would book us guests, send us show notes, and send music to play on the show. We then agreed to do the show weekly, Wednesday nights at 10pm eastern time.
We did that show weekly for most of 2013. When Spreecast folded, I downloaded a bunch of the shows and stored them on a hard drive. Until now. Here are a few of the unearthed Spreecasts, with more to come.
